Studio recording, mixing, mastering, and video production of Takemitsu's three-movement composition for flute and guitar.
Toru Takemitsu’s three-movement composition, written for the Greenpeace “Save the Whales” campaign in the 1980s. The piece spells out the word SEA through a musical motif, employing a dialogue of sound and silence where gestures culminate in periods of complete rest.
The instrumentation features guitar and flute, chosen to evoke traditional Japanese instruments, exemplifying Takemitsu’s later style with folk elements and harmonies reminiscent of Debussy.
